![]() ![]() Sometimes, AMD's drivers seem to be fine, and then the next release breaks shit like mad and the next update doesn't even come for 4-6 months. One last thing to consider is the general stability of nVidia's drivers vs the grab-bag that is AMD's drivers. but thatll be a time will tell kind of thing. Similar for Shadowplay.Īnd then there's the "will it be available" - the 6800XT might be the better option just because it might actually be available (though now that AMD is walking back their "well have plenty of stock" humblebrag by going into detail about their anti-bot efforts, it looks like those launches are going to be just as shit-filled as nVidia's). If you might use NVENC 2.0, that alone might be worth the 50$ extra (it would be to me). ![]() But it isn't a cut-and-dry "its just better". It looks like a perfectly capable card, competing extremely favorably with the 3080, and is cheaper (however marginally) to boot. I dont want to come across as "DO NOT BUY 6800XT" or anything. Depending on the setup, RAM speeds much past 3200 (for Intel) and 3600 (Zen 2) are VERY situationally beneficial and not worth the investment (up to twice the price for 2-3% performance at best). ![]() This applies ONLY to Zen 3 (which is relevant to this builder/OP). I recommend 4000Mhz RAM speed if possible. EDIT: The memory you use with your high end CPU's does matter. ![]()
