SEX: While there are no sex scenes or even a mention of it, there is one steamy kiss that is pretty descriptive and some gushy stuff right before. I was fine, but I can't speak for other children. It describes multiple scenes where either someone hears the "snap of one's neck" or sees a wolf-man lock his jaw around the victims neck" and "blood gushed out" or many descriptive, gory scenes that really aren't meant for anyone younger than thirteen. VIOLENCE: there is a lot more violence in Scarlet, and there are very descriptive wolf-men and their killings. I never watch anything above PG, and I'm 11, though I handle swearing just fine. LANGUAGE: the H word is mentioned quite a lot in Scarlet, though it's nothing tweens haven't been exposed to already. Although it is a little more mature than Cinder, Scarlet is a great and entertaining book. Just like Cinder, Scarlet doesn't disappoint. “A laugh-a-minute read.” - Glamour (U.K.) Praise for Sophie Kinsella and Shopaholic Takes Manhattan Becky may have taken Manhattan-but will she have to return it? One is able to see the demonstrated racism throughout all of World War Two, but specific evidence such as a bill passed by President Roosevelt in 1942 is a direct example. Though the United States did not intern people in the 1970s, the racism seen targeting other minority groups such as African Americans, women, Asian Americans and others was very comparable to the racism seen in the 1940’s prefacing the Japanese internment. Truth matters. When you speak truth, you come to believe it. It is the center of all your inner life.” It also refers to your mind and thoughts as well. But in Hebrew, the heart…doesn’t just describe your emotions. Lois Tverberg explains, “In English we speak of the heart to refer to our emotions, sometimes even contrasting our hearts with our heads-our rational thinking. You are a whole person, and the path to your heart travels through your mind.
